Last Day To Submit Thesis For This Semester - 23 August 2013

DEAR ALL UTM FULL RESEARCH STUDENTS,
The last date to submit your thesis for viva (for graduating research students) for this semester is FRIDAY, 23 August 2013 (Friday a week before registration for next semester). Failed to submit it by this date would mean that you have to register and pay the fees for the next semester (IF YOU STILL HAVE ANY SEMESTER LEFT). Before you submit your thesis for viva, please make sure that : 1. you have satisfied all requirements (have taken and passed the Research Methodology Course & University Compulsory Subject, with a grade of at least B-)
2. you have submitted the Notice of Submission of Thesis AT LEAST 3 months before you plan to submit your thesis. The Notice Of Submission of Thesis form can be accessed online at http://spsapp3.utm.my:8080/gsmsv21/.
Students have to fill this form out and submit. The supervisor then has
to fill out the necessary details and give 3 names for external
examiners and 3 names of internal examiners (four names each if the
students are UTM Staff). The application for Notice of Submission of
Thesis has to be first endorsed in the Faculty's JKPS Meeting before
JAPSU Meeting in SPS.

Subject Pre-Registration Now Open
Dear students, subjects pre-registration for semester 2013-14-01
that will commence in September 2013 has been opened. To pre-register a
subject, do the following;
1. Login to Postgraduate Portal. If you do not have an account, see here; http://portal.fke.utm.my/postgraduate/portalaccount.php 2. Click "List of Subjects Offered" on your right. 3. Here you can see the available subjects. 4. Click "Click here to request subjects" at the bottom of the page. 5. Select 5 options for pre-registration. Click "Submit". The subjects offered next semester will be based on the pre-registration demand and subject availability. A subject with less than 5 students pre-registration will not be offered. Please note that the final list of subjects to be offered will be available sometime later, and are bound to terms and conditions. Deadline for subject pre-registration is 5 July 2013, 12.00 noon. |

Postgraduate Opportunities in UTM
![]() Opportunities for postgraduate research with sponsorship are available immediately at the DSIP Research Group, Infocomm Research Alliance and Faculty of Electrical Engineering, UTM for the coming Semester 1, Session 2013 2014. The areas of research offered are spectrum sensing/surveillance, instantaneous frequency estimation, compressive sensing, video compression and video content analysis. The prospective candidates must be Malaysian, graduated from a recognized university with a CPA of at least 3.0/4.0 and have strong interest in the area of signal processing and image processing.
